The doubles

The doubles cup is a pairs competition, with the pairings drawn randomly at the start of the season (with the exception of the previous winners who stay together). The first round is a league competition, with the top two teams in the league going through to the knockout stage. This is played on Monday nights in conjunction with the championship.

This is a new competition from 2003, where entrants are limited to the top players from the previous year’s championship. It is a knockout competition, played on Monday nights in conjunction with the championship.

Three-club day

This is a one-off event each year. All the participants have just 3 clubs, including a putter to play with. This is a stableford competition, played on a Monday evening, the score not counting towards the championship. Usually after the event we have a barbecue.

Frank Single Cup (formerly the End of Year Cup)

The end of year competition started as a day out at the end of the season, and has progressed to a weekend away on the Sunday and Monday after the final round in the championship. It is usually played at different courses around the country and is named in honour of the late Frank Single, a BCGS member.

The Nepotism Cup

The annual “Nepotism Cup” is played at Seaford between BCGS and South Norwood Police. When South Norwood police station closed, new opponents were found.
